God’s Call

“In His kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and He will place you on a firm foundation.” (‭1 Peter‬ ‭5‬:‭10‬ NLT)

5:10 – When we are suffering, we often feel as though our pain will never end. Peter gave these faithful Christians a broader perspective. In comparison with eternity, their suffering would last only “a little while.” Some of Peter’s readers would be strengthened and delivered in their own lifetimes. Others would be released from their suffering through death. All of God’s faithful followers are assured of an eternal life with Christ, where there will be no suffering (Revelation 21:4).

Have you ever wondered what eternity will be like? The “Holy City, the new Jerusalem” is described as the place where God will remove all sorrows. Forevermore, there will be no death, sorrow, crying, or pain. What a wonderful truth! No matter what you are going through, it’s not the last word—God has written the final chapter, and it is about true fulfillment and eternal joy for those who love Him. We do not know as much as we would like, but it is enough to know that eternity with God will be more wonderful than we could ever imagine.(Tyndale Study Bible)

Don’t we all want to be kind? The results from it is so rewarding. We never have to question God’s kindness. What could be more unlimited? God is a God of Grace. He is always there for us.

We have all gone through hardship. When we are at the back-end of hardship, we look back and often realize that it was not so bad. I can’t help asking and wondering: did I learn from it?

As the scripture says, God called us to share in His eternal Glory. When we are called, we should respond and act. In other words, we should make a decision. Then, because Jesus paid a price for us, eternal glory is at our finger tips.

What happens next is your restoration, supported, strengthened and then placed on a firm foundation. Wow, how insane is that!? It encumbers everything – just read and ponder over this a while. Further to this, He promises eternity in everything!

Restored, supported, strengthened and placed on a firm foundation – can you imagine that in the workplace? It promises endless possibilities. These are such powerful promises.

I get so excited when I study the Word.
