“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” (Isaiah 26:3 NLT)
We can never avoid strife in the world around us, but when we fix our thoughts on God, we can know perfect peace even in turmoil. As we focus our mind on God and his Word, we become steady and stable. Supported by God’s unchanging love and mighty power, we are not shaken by the surrounding chaos (see Philippians 4:7). Do you want peace? Keep your thoughts on God and your trust in him.
“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. (John 14:27 NLT)
The end result of the Holy Spirit’s work in our lives is deep and lasting peace. Unlike worldly peace, which is usually defined as the absence of conflict, this peace is confident assurance in any circumstance; with Christ’s peace, we have no need to fear the present or the future. Sin, fear, uncertainty, doubt, and numerous other forces are at war within us. The peace of God moves into our hearts and lives to restrain these hostile forces and offer comfort in place of conflict. Jesus says he will give us that peace if we are willing to accept it from him. If your life is full of stress, allow the Holy Spirit to fill you with Christ’s peace (see Philippians 4:6, 7 for more on experiencing God’s peace). (Tyndale Study Bible)
What’s incredible is that these scriptures just pop up. I don’t choose them, they appear daily in my “You Version Bible” app.
I feel I need to say this: my inspiration to write these comments are directly from the Holy Spirit. I give all the Glory to God. I am so inspired on a daily basis.
As Christians, we have all seen that peace that overcomes our worldly nature. When I was in the world, I could never understand it. Now it is as clear as day and, just as John says, it is available to us all.
On Monday we heard that if you have faith, you will lack nothing. Yesterday we heard that God is faithful. Today, He gives us peace. Can it get better? Have faith and lack nothing, God will stand by us faithfully and give us peace. Wow!
“God, I pray that you will give me courage, conviction and insight to tell the world about Your good news. I pray that every soul may hear and be touched by You. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen”
