Stand out

“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.” (‭Psalms‬ ‭139‬:‭13-14NLT)

God’s character goes into the creation of every person. When you feel worthless or even begin to hate yourself, remember that God’s Spirit is ready and willing to work within you. We should have as much respect for ourselves as our Maker has for us.(Tyndale Study Bible)

Have you ever wandered about the human body and the way our brains work?

I was a competitive triathlete when I was younger and I was always amazed what the body can endure, such as the speed we can run at. What always amazes me is that you can train your  body to achieve almost anything.

In the early 90’s, the fastest marathon time was around 2.07. Dennis Kimetto broke the world record last week and run a 2.02:57. That is just unbelievable! Remember the days when it was amazing to run a sub 4 min mile (1.6 km)? Nowadays it seems childishly easy.

Why don’t we apply this training to our brains and our work? I have never put my brain through the same training that I did my body, but I realized that it’s never to late to start.

What if we explore that excellence in our daily tasks?

Just as the scripture says, we are uniquely made. So why not be that in everything we do? Stand out.

“Lord, I pray that I will stand out for you. Guide me to be this unique person You made me. All this to glorify You. In Jesus mighty name. Amen.”
