“For a child is born to us, a son is given to us. The government will rest on his shoulders. And he will be called: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (‭Isaiah‬ ‭9‬:‭6‬ NLT)

In a time of great darkness, God promised to send a light who would shine on everyone living in the shadow of death. He is both “Wonderful Counselor” and “Mighty God.” This message of hope was fulfilled in the birth of Christ and the establishment of his eternal Kingdom. He came to deliver all people from their slavery to sin. (Tyndale Study Bible)

This is such a significant event, the birth of Jesus. Just like I said yesterday, love is the key ingredient during this time. It starts with God’s love for us. It was so great that He sent His Son to Earth to die for our sins.

Jesus’ s birth is the most celebrated event in the world. I just won’t believe that there are people who don’t accept Jesus as their Saviour. More in your face Christmas can’t be.

Pastor Basil in his Christmas message said there are 2 things we should think of during this time.

Firstly, we must remember who we are. In fact, just remember everything that will make us better people. Remember where we come from and what God does for us.

The next thing is to show the world who and what we are. Show the world  what a difference God and Jesus make.

So why not just accept God’s love and salvation through Jesus? Amazing things will happen to you.

“Lord, I pray that You will expose all people in the world to your love. May people realize that You are the only Way. In Jesus name I pray. Amen”
