“Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.” (Colossians 3:13 NLT)
Is it difficult for you to forgive someone whom you perceive to have offended you slightly when God has forgiven you for your vast amount of offences toward Him? The key to forgiving others is to constantly remind yourself what God has forgiven you for. Realizing God’s infinite love and forgiveness will help you to love and forgive others equally. Do not worry about those who have wronged you – let God take care of that. Do not drench your life in bitter feuding. The only way to live with love and joy is to renew yourself and your mind.(Tyndal Study Bible)
How many people do you know who bear grudges against others and against circumstances? I personally know people who have not spoken to their own family in years. Something insignificant often causes such consequences. Do you know anybody like that? Or, is this you?
Things such as grudges, anger and resentment burden the heart and have the potential to drive you insane. You will never be able to acquire true piece if you refuse to forgive. Once you have chosen to forgive, you cannot live in the past anymore – it is over.
The people who know me will be aware that my business position has changed dramatically in the past few years, from owner to worker. I could be angry with the world, bear a grudge against everybody and everything. However, with the motivation of my family, I made a conscious decision to overcome the situation, get over myself and to get on with it.
I therefore learned once more to never give up. The cream always rises to the top. You have been there once before, why not again?
Just as the scripture says, God has given you another chance – use it. Do not waste it when someone else who has not been given the opportunity could capitalize on it, share and forgive.
It is rewarding, I guarantee it.
” Lord I thank you for my second chance. Please give me Your forgiving nature. In Jesus name. Amen. ”
