Lets praise

“Let all that I am praise the LORD; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Let all that I am praise the LORD; may I never forget the good things he does for me.” (Psalms 103:1-2 NLT)

103:1 – David’s praise focused on the positives God was doing for him. It is easy to complain about life, but David’s list gives us plenty for which to praise God: He forgives our sins, heals our diseases, redeems us from death, crowns us with love and compassion, satisfies our desires, and gives righteousness and justice. We receive all of these without deserving any of them. No matter how difficult your life’s journey, you can always count your blessings—past, present, and future. When you feel as though you have nothing for which to praise God, read David’s list.

How many times have you thought, “Wow, this is so though, why is it only happening to me?” or, Why is nobody helping me? I need help so that I’m not alone in this, so why are people ignoring me?”

This has been my thought process many times. We overlook the things that we should be grateful for and instead we focus on all the negatives. Stop victimising yourself!

Let me give you an example: I watched rugby until midnight on Saturday, and our granddaughter, who was staying over, was awake at 4am. I could not sleep and almost began complaining, until I realised how I would look back on this moment and savour it forever. It is now 6:30am and our little girl is playing with us in bed as I write this.

We actually have so much to be grateful for, and for that I praise God every day. It’s a “praise mind-set”, so to speak, which we should renew ourselves in. Once we renew our minds in this manner and adopt this positive attitude, we will stop overlooking all the good aspects of our lives and will start focusing on them

Try it… Praise.

“Lord I pray that you make me grateful, I thank you for being there for me. Make me trust in You with my whole heart. In Jesus name I Pray. Amen”
