For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God’s word. (Ephesians 5:25-26 NLT)

Paul devotes twice as many words to telling husbands to love their wives as to telling wives to submit to their husbands. How should a man love his wife? (1) He should be willing to sacrifice everything for her, (2) make her well-being of primary importance, and (3) care for her as he cares for his own body. No wife needs to fear submitting to a man who treats her in this way.

Christ’s death makes the church holy and clean. He cleanses us from the old ways of sin and sets us apart for his special sacred service (Hebrews 10:29; 13:12). Christ cleansed the church by the washing of baptism. Through baptism we are prepared for entrance into the church just as ancient Near Eastern brides were prepared for marriage by a ceremonial bath. It is God’s Word that cleanses us (John 17:17; Titus 3:5).

As Jesus loved the Church. What amazing words. God loves us unconditionally. You see no matter what you have done, God will love you, He even forgives murders.

That is not a reason for one to carry on with indiscretions regardless. Because God does say when we know the difference between right and wrong we can’t keep doing wrong. As Humans we are blessed with the skill to make choices. Make the wrong ones and it would lead to distraction.

You see the Church is the Body of Christ. It’s not the building we worship in. It is all off us individuals that make up the Body of Christ the Church.Jesus died our sins. Husbands will you die for your wife’s?

How many people do you know that alcohol has caused a break up in the home or in some cases serious disruption. In some cases the total destruction of the marriage. You see the individuals involved have the choice not to consume alcohol, they have to make those choices.

My question is if you truly love your wife will you be making these wrong choices. Just like Jesus loved the Church. No I don’t think so. Know can you imagine if you apply that Love principle to all things in the relationships? Literally everything.

“Lord I pray that your love will fill me. May I love in the same way you do. In Jesus name. Amen”
