Love has no fear

“Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭4:18‬ ‭NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

If we ever are afraid of the future, eternity, or God’s judgment, we can remind ourselves of God’s love. We know that he loves us perfectly (Romans 8:38-39). We can resolve our fears first by focusing on his immeasurable love for us, and then by allowing him to love others through us. His love will quiet your fears and give you confidence.
In the sermon on Sunday, Pastor Hennie van der Merwe was explaining that we need to have the Fire of God in us. We as individuals have to invade others’ space and lives.

He explained that people want and wait to see a supernatural event. People like to rely on others to make that happen. His point was that we should rather let God work in us. So that people can see the supernatural power of God in us. He has a unique way of preaching in that he is very loud. He says that’s the way we should be for God. Loud and unashamed for God.

If we are filled with God’s power, boldness and love, we will be unafraid of the tests of the world.

“Such love has no fear” perfect love expels all fear. The love John is speaking about here is the perfect love of God. He loves us perfectly. Just rely on that love and all fear will be expelled. Just like Pastor Hennie was saying – we should stand out. Key in the commentary to me is, allowing him to love others through us, what amazing words.

Trust in God and let the Love work.

“Lord I thank you for Your Love. Use me to love. In Jesus name. Amen”
