“Let there be no sexual immorality, impurity, or greed among you. Such sins have no place among God’s people. Obscene stories, foolish talk, and coarse jokes—these are not for you. Instead, let there be thankfulness to God.”
Ephesians 5:3-4 NLT
Obscene stories and coarse jokes are so common that we begin to take them for granted. Paul cautions, however, that improper language should have no place in the Christian’s conversation because it does not reflect God’s gracious presence in us. How can we praise God and remind others of his goodness when we are speaking coarsely?
Immediately I am reminded of the words, Holy, Humble and Pure.
On my way home this evening, I was pondering pure living. Pure in every aspect. Just read the scripture again it covers most of the bases.
A while ago we spoke about that God knows everything. He knows your deepest thoughts. At Bible school the other evening Pastor Brian made the comment; God knows what goes on in your bedroom even in the toilet, lol.
I set out to life purely this year. In everything I do. I would like it to cover every aspect of my life. You have heard this before you are what you eat. How can one be pure and overweight I don’t think the two go hand in hand? I am not judging it’s not my place to judge. How can you be mentally on top of your game if you are not physically sharp? I am not going to carry on; I am sure you get the idea. So which is your area?
I would like to leave you with this thought. “So a man thinks so is he.” Proverbs 23:7. So my prayer daily is pure thoughts, followed by pure actions.
“Lord, I give thanks for the desire to be pure. I trust in You to guide me. In Jesus name. Amen.”
