“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,”
I Peter 1:3 NKJV
The term “born again” refers to spiritual birth (regeneration)—the Holy Spirit’s act of bringing believers into God’s family. Jesus used this concept of new birth when he explained salvation to Nicodemus (see John 3). This term is an excellent metaphor of new life from God. You cannot be a Christian without a fresh beginning based on the salvation Christ brings. To be born again is a magnificent gift from God.
Do you need encouragement? Peter’s words offer joy and hope in times of trouble, and he bases his confidence on what God has done for us in Christ Jesus. We live with the incredible expectation of eternal life (1:3). Our hope is not only for the future; eternal life begins when we trust Christ and join God’s family. God will help us remain faithful to our faith through whatever difficult times we must face. The “last day” is the judgement day of Christ described in Romans 14:10 and Revelation 20:11-15. No matter what trials or persecution you may face, your soul cannot be harmed if you have accepted Christ’s gift of salvation. You will receive the promised rewards. ( Tyndal Study Bible )
I am going to ask this question have ever done something wrong and then thought if only I had a second chance, I would not do that again? My next question is, are you perfect and never done anything wrong? Nope, I don’t think so.
I was speaking to a friend the other day. He said he was close to taking the step to salvation and a someone told him it’s all a little airy fairy. Well, I can confirm that it’s the opposite, it takes courage. Most times in life we are concerned what our peers and family are going to think. Well, I can tell from experience after making the decision to accept Jesus as my personal saviour, born again, the challenges are immense it’s not for the faint hearted. It might not be easy but the benefits by far outweigh the negatives. The inner peace that overcomes you is incredible.
“Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. ” Philippians 4:7
If you accept Jesus, you are part of the Church the Body of Christ, and this blessing is available to you. Pay attention to what the commentator is saying, nothing and nobody can affect you if you accept Jesus. Paul in, Philippians, the preceding verses says, you should leave all your troubles in Prayer before God. Then the promise in verse seven will follow.
Apart from that peace, you receive the Power of the Holy Spirit and access to God’s word the Bible. There is no better motivational and life guidance handbook, ever. Will you read it, most probably not, if you are unsaved? I invite you to take the time to read the Bible. I can also recommend spending time in the presence of believers. If you have a question, about these events and how it affects you, fire away. I can assure you; the positive outweighs the negative. Just try it. Jesus is the only way.
Take that step = believer lead someone to Christ, unbeliever, accept Jesus as your saviour.
” Lord, I pray the Holy Spirit touch the unbeliever. As believers may we cross paths with unbelievers. Give us the wisdom to touch their lives. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.”
