“For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope.”
Romans 15:4 NKJV
The knowledge of the Scriptures affects our attitude toward the present and the future. The more we know about what God has done in years past, the greater the confidence we have about what he will do in the days ahead. We should read our Bibles diligently to increase our trust that God’s will is best for us. (Tyndal Study Bible)
Wisdom was the topic yesterday and the Bible is our Google for that wisdom. And yes we can use Google to explore the Bible. The source of information is still the Bible. For Google to be, useful things had to be recorded, just as the Bible is written and recorded.
Take note what Scripture above is saying. It documents principles and guidelines for our learning. It’s a source of reference for our comfort. Apply it and it will create hope.
Consider this; we have to fill our brain and hearts with the correct information. Think of the information that our kids and we have access to in Google. Have you considered the evils there? I am sure you are all aware. As fast and efficient Google can be we have to be as fast to teach the pitfalls. We can’t just ignore it. We all have a responsibility to educate and guard against those evils and pitfalls. So just as scripture teaches the correct way, we have the responsibility to teach and guide those we touch, the proper way to information and wisdom.
The commentator makes a point the more we know about God and His ways, the better we will understand the future. It will be easier to make the right choices. It will be like a snowball, the more useful information out of the Bible, the more healthy choices and favour.
Guard against the wrong trust the Bible.
” Lord I pray for right information Your Word the Bible. Amen.”
