The only way

“There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.””
Acts 4:12

Many people react negatively to the fact that there is no other name than that of Jesus to call on for salvation. Yet this is not something the church decided; it is the specific teaching of Jesus himself (John 14:6). If God designated Jesus to be the Savior of the world, no one else can be his equal. Christians are to be open-minded on many issues, but not on how we are saved from sin. No other religious teacher could die for our sins; no other religious teacher came to earth as God’s only Son; no other religious teacher rose from the dead. Our focus should be on Jesus, whom God provided as the way to have an eternal relationship with himself. There is no other name or way!
I am amazed by this and that’s why I believe. Yes, there are many that react negatively. I am always astounded that many religions recognize God, yet they don’t recognize Jesus.

If you read the whole of Acts 4 its about Peter and John preaching to the people about Jesus’s resurrection through the power of the Holy Spirit. Peter and John where locked up and accused of false testimony. That evening when they where locked up they had convinced a number of people – 5000 in all.

The following day they came before the Council. The people of the council were too scared to do anything because they would have a riot on their hands. They had healed a cripple man with the power of the Holy Spirit. Because that is what they where telling the people and they believed it. Resurrection power which is available to all believers through Jesus. The Council released Peter and John because they healed a cripple man of forty years and everybody saw that.

The Council warned them that they should stop telling this story. Peter and John reacted, and said they won’t take instruction from them. Their instruction comes from God alone. When they where released they got together with other believers and prayed. And so the Good News of Jesus was spread.

Take the time to read the whole off Acts 4 its an amazing account.

“Lord like you did then touch unbelievers through the power of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus name. Amen.”
