“Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16:24‬ ‭NIV‬‬
For centuries people sought a fountain of youth, a spring that promised to give eternal life and vitality. It was never found. But God’s wisdom offers us discretion, which is a “life-giving fountain,” allowing us to become happy, healthy, and alive forever. How? When we live by God’s Word, he washes away the deadly effects of sin (see Titus 3:4-8). And the hope of eternal life with him gives us a joyful perspective on our present life. The fountain of youth was only a dream, but the “life-giving fountain” is reality. The choice is yours. You can be enlightened by God’s wisdom, or you can be dragged down by the weight of your own foolishness. (Tyndal Study Bible)
I personally don’t think you can be in physically great shape if you are not mentally on top off things. Where does your mental peace from?
The modern world is very clear on the fact, that stress kills. Many people die daily because of stress related ailments. It is definitely one of the triggers of cancer. Evidence of this is well documented. So let’s think of the opposite of gracious. I googled this and here are some of the words that describe this, rude, shabby, crude and cruel. My next question have you made yourself guilty of any of these words. I certainly have over time, yes before I got saved.
Pay careful attention to the words of scripture. I love the words, gracious, honeycomb, sweet and healing. What you say and think creates your state of mind. Kind words will create a kind heart. Harsh words will create a hardened heart. The same applies to the way it affects people. Kind words will create a kind response. It will create healthy living in the long run.
“Lord, I pray for kind words. Amen.”
