And the Holy Spirit helps us in our “weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.” (Romans 8:26 NLT)
As a believer, you are not left to your own resources to cope with problems. Even when you don’t know the right words to pray, the Holy Spirit prays with and for you, and God answers. With God helping you pray, you don’t need to be afraid to come before him. Ask the Holy Spirit to intercede for you “in harmony with God’s own will.” Then, when you bring your requests to God, trust that he will always do what is best.
“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you.”(John 14:16 NLT)
The word translated “Advocate” combines the ideas of comfort and counsel. The word could also be translated Comforter, Encourager, or Counselor. The Holy Spirit is a powerful person on our side, working for and with us.(Tyndale Study Bible)
We are often faced with hard decisions, sometimes even potentially sad ones. What we tend to do sometimes, even as believers, is to rely on our ideas. In this aspect, we are therefore similar to unbelievers.
You see, Jesus died for our sins on the Cross. What followed was the release of the Holy Spirit, and with the power of the Holy Spirit, Jesus was resurrected. God promises us in the Bible that, that power is available to us all.
If you can get help, then why not take it? Why not grab it with both hands? The Holy Spirit through God will help and guide you. Just ask?
I am sure you have heard a voice in the back of your head guiding you and speaking to you. Well, that’s the Holy Spirit working on your behalf.
“I pray, Lord, that all will accept Your way. I give thanks for your Spirit and support. I pray for guidance. In Jesus name. Amen”
