Taste and see that the LORD is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him! (Psalms 34:8 NLT)
“Taste and see” does not mean, “Check out God’s credentials.” Instead, it is a warm invitation: “Try this; I know you’ll like it.” When we take that first step of obedience in following God, we will discover that he is good and kind. When we begin the Christian life, our knowledge of God is partial and incomplete. As we trust him daily, we experience how good he is.
In this book, I am reading, about Courage by Simon Ekin. He talks about living boldly. We hesitate to do things because of people and ourselves continuously self-talk. That will never work. I am going to fail. He then goes on to tell the Story about the authors of the book, Chicken Soup for the Soul. They had gone to 140 different publishing companies before somebody wanted to publish the book. It was a tiny company that took them on. It has know sold Millions of copies around the world and is translated into 30 languages.
Moral of the story they never gave up on their dreams. They believed they had a winner. So never give up on your dreams.
Yet some of us don’t have a clear and concise dream. I encourage you to try God’s way.
Just like the comment above says. This is not there to check out His credentials. I can assure you it’s very sweet. I have experienced many things in my life, nothing as fulfilling as my relationship God. The Peace that comes with it is amazing and seem able to overcome all trials.
” Lord I pray that you touch all and get them to take refuge in you. I thank you for showing me the way. May we all follow our dreams boldly. In Jesus name. Amen.”
