And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil. (Ephesians 4:26 – 27) NLT)
The Bible doesn’t tell us that we shouldn’t feel angry, but it points out that it is important to handle our anger properly. If vented thoughtlessly, anger can hurt others and destroy relationships. If bottled up inside, it can cause us to become bitter and destroy us from within. Paul tells us to deal with our anger immediately in a way that builds relationships rather than destroys them. If we nurse our anger, we will give the devil an opportunity to divide us. Are you angry with someone right now? What can you do to resolve your differences? Don’t let the day end before you begin to work on mending your relationship. (Tyndal Study Bible)
The more I study the Bible, the more I want. What I love is discovering new verses every day.
Remember the words two days ago, Holy Humble, Pure and Patient. Will you ever get angry if you dress yourself with these words? I feel I should just say this again; these words are speaking to me; I struggle with these things. I am inspired and feel I should share that inspiration. Be God’s messenger.
We have all gone to bed angry, and I know it’s not always easy to resolve issues of the heart. Why? Pride takes over and what should we be, Humble. Anger is inflicted by the devil to separate us from God. Paul tells us to deal with our anger immediately in a way that builds relationships rather than destroys them. You see around every corner there is an opportunity to strengthen relationships. If you can work through these challenges its a victory over the devil. The more you achieve this the stronger you and the process becomes.
There are instances where anger can be good. For example when you are angry with yourself about something. Quiet aggression in achieving an objective that can be for God as well.
