Eternal life

“I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believe in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life. (‭John‬ ‭5‬:‭24‬ NLT)
Eternal life—living forever with God—begins when you accept Jesus Christ as Savior. At that moment, new life begins in you (2 Corinthians 5:17). It is a completed transaction. You still will face physical death, but when Christ returns again, your body will be resurrected to live forever (1 Corinthians 15).
This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! (‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬ NLT)
I always wonder if we as Christians understand the concept of eternal life. I believe it’s really difficult to fully grasp the concept. We are just simple people who are sceptical about things. Instead of just believing.
I was chatting to a colleague the other day that just returned from a trip to Italy. He spent a couple of days in Rome. One just has to be amazed at some of the sites and buildings there. “The Colosseum” amazing, this structure was commissioned 70 Ad. An amphitheatre to seat 55000  people. Can you believe people were capable of building a structure like that in that time?
If I spend time thinking of splendour of this Building, the coming of Jesus is even more amazing to me. What impact He made on the world at that time. Think of the sceptics. Read the scripture again. God sent his Son Jesus to this woeful world. The single purpose was, to give us the opportunity to rid us of our sin. He released the Holy Spirit over the world. And the power of that Spirit resurrected Jesus from the dead. To be with the Father. And to be with us all the time.
In the mornings at 6, I listen to Angus Buchan. He made a comment that power of the Spirit is with us daily to make us bold. This boldness should make us spread the Good News of the Gospel. Be different to everyone around us. Stand out for God. Even in your workplace, do your job with extra zeal, to His Glory.
Now that’s available to us if we believe. With this comes our opportunity for eternal life. To be with God always.
Today we have taken more time to indulge in God’s word because there are so many influences today. Just think of the stuff that influences us daily.
” Lord I pray that are with me daily and reveal your Word to me. I thank you for eternal life. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen”
