Humble yourself

Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land. (‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭7‬:‭14‬ NLT)‬‬‬
In chapter 6, Solomon asked God to make provisions for the people when they sinned. God answered with four conditions for forgiveness:(1) Humble yourself by admitting your sins, (2) pray to God, asking for forgiveness, (3) seek God continually, and (4) turn from sinful behaviour. True repentance is more than talk—it is changed behaviour. Whether we sin individually, as a group, or as a nation, following these steps will lead to forgiveness. God will answer our earnest prayers. (Tyndal Study Bible)
Solomon was known to be one the wisest people around. God blessed him with unbelievable wisdom. If one studies the history, you will notice that sin caused a divided in the Kingdom at the time.
During this period sin was dealt with offerings. Offerings removed your sin. There where only a select few who could talk to God. Today because Jesus died for our sins we all have access to God.
Solomon asked God to make provision if we sinned. God answered very clearly. Read the commentary again. Humble yourself, pray to God, seek God and turn from sinful behaviour.
True repentance is more than talking it’s changed behaviour.
Just like when you want a different result. You have to modify the way you do things. Changed behaviour. You see when you get saved you are born again. You get another chance in changed behaviour. Do these four things mentioned above, and you will have change.
“Lord I pray for change in me. Humbly I pray and seek You so that I can turn from sinful behaviour. In Jesus name. Amen.”
