The Gift of God

May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other, as is fitting for followers of Christ Jesus. Then all of you can join together with one voice, giving praise and glory to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. (‭Romans‬ ‭15‬:‭5-6‬ NLT)‬‬‬‬‬‬
The Roman church was a diverse community. It was made up of Jews and Gentiles, slaves and free people, rich and poor, strong and weak. So it was difficult for them to accept one another. Accepting means taking people into our homes as well as into our hearts, sharing meals and activities, and avoiding racial and economic discrimination. We must go out of our way to avoid favouritism. Consciously spend time greeting those you don’t normally talk to, minimise differences, and seek common ground for fellowship. In this way you are accepting others as Christ has accepted you, and God is given glory. (Tyndal Study Bible)
God invites everybody to his Kingdom. No matter what you have done, he forgives you. Even a murderer is forgiven by God. Who are we to judge people then? Or for that matter judge a situation. In fact who are we to judge anything in this world.
Everything thing in this world is just on loan to us. We come into this world with nothing, and we go out with nothing. Just like the commentator said yesterday we should use our talents to Glorify God. Sow the right seeds, and right fruit will be produced.
Not Judging and accepting people the way they are will make this world a better place. Start by caring and reaching out to others that are less fortunate, than yourself. When last have you opened your heart and home for people like that? Put out an arm of love to the ones that you don’t like. The closer you are to people you dislike the better. Each of us has a responsibility to make this world a better place. It’s not only there for the select few. Serve the ones noboby wants to serve and God will give you those that everyone one wants to serve.
Jesus told his disciples he who serves most is the greatest of them all. Not where you stay or how much money you have. Which car do you drive?
“Just like You accepted me, Lord, I pray that I will accept and serves others. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.”
