Full tank

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. (‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬ NLT)‬‬‬‬‬‬
What we put into our minds determines what comes out in our words and actions. Paul tells us to program our minds with thoughts that are true, honourable, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and worthy of praise. Do you have problems with impure thoughts and daydreams? Examine what you are putting into your mind through television, the Internet, books, conversations, movies, video games, and magazines. Replace harmful input with a wholesome material. Above all, read God’s Word and pray. Ask God to help you focus your mind on what is right and pure. It takes practice, but it can be done. (Tyndal Study Bible)
As I read this scripture, this thought comes to mind. You have a good life, you are doing well at work, got a nice house, financially stable, and and, yet you still feel a void. Something is missing. I am a Christian and should not feel like that! Well yes, you can feel that way.
It makes me think of that nice car you have. It’s a complete piece of engineering. The fuel tank is empty. So suddenly this piece of engineering can’t do its job. Why because it can’t run without fuel. The next thing is you can’t fill it with contaminated fuel; it will breakdown. So know this car, great piece of engineering can’t function and is worthless.
That feeling you have, void and empty. Please let me say I am currently right there and the Devil does not make it easier. What we tend to do is blame our circumstance, we want to lay blame with everybody and everything. I came out of a broken home; I don’t have money, there are thousands of excuses out there.
My opinion and advice from the Bible one should focus on what is going fill your tank and make you a whole person again. What do you have to do to be fulfilled? You see sin and wrong thoughts add to that void. The scripture prescribes what one should do. Then the commentator describes in detail, the repair. These methods describe how you fill your spiritual tank. And then just like the car, you will be complete and can function the way you should. We are an incredible creation, just as we need food to eat, we need spiritual food.
I feel I should say this that alcohol clouds one senses. One can’t think clearly where alcohol is involved. You can’t even drive your car. You can’t drive your car, but you want to drive your life. Alcohol clouds your sense.
“ Lord I pray these words touch me and many others out there today. I thank you for creating this platform. Thank you for all the blessings I have. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen”
