Power

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. (‭2 Timothy‬ ‭1‬:‭7‬ NLT)‬‬‬
Paul mentions three characteristics of the effective Christian leader: power, love, and self-discipline. These are available to us because the Holy Spirit lives in us. Follow his leading each day so that your life will more fully exhibit these characteristics. See Galatians 5:22-23 for a list of the by-products of the Holy Spirit living in us. (Tyndal Study Bible)
“But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!” (Galatians‬ ‭5:22-23‬ ‭NLT‬‬)
As for the void that I have been talking about the last couple of days. You see, all those things we don’t do that keeps us from filling that void. Even if we have everything, we still feel that void. That is because we don’t have a clear relationship with God. You don’t spend enough time in His company. Sin, guilt and feeling of condemnation will keep us from God. We tend not to feel good enough to spend time with Him.
It always amazes me how the scripture follows. The lesson from scripture above is God, through Jesus, gave us the tool to be in touch with Him all the time. He gave us the Holy Spirit. For the non-believer, it’s that voice in the back of your head that says that’s not right. Your conscience, it’s alive, it’s the Holy Spirit working in you. As a believer, you rely on the guidance of the Holy Spirit and its power. As a non-believer its there and working in you to do the right thing. Even leading you to God.
Ignoring the power of the Spirit will move you away from that peace we all look for. It’s about listening and making the right choices. Like I have said to myself many times before taking action, do the right thing.
The Holy Spirit produces good fruit. Read Galatians carefully again. Achieve these words, and that void is filled. What do you think?
“ Lord I thank you for the Holy Spirit. Spirit stay in and guide me all the days of my life. In Jesus name. Amen.”
