God’s love

This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. (‭1 John‬ ‭4‬:‭10‬ NLT)‬‬‬‬‬‬
Nothing sinful or evil can exist in God’s presence. He is absolute goodness. He cannot overlook, condone, or excuse sin as though it never happened. He loves us, but his love does not make him morally lax. If we trust in Christ, however, we will not have to bear the penalty for our sins (1 Peter 2:24). We will be acquitted (Romans 5:18) by his atoning sacrifice. (Tyndal Study Bible)
Not that we loved Him, but he loved us that much that he sent his Son Jesus as a sacrifice for our sin.
I wonder if any of us can understand or can conceive the idea of giving your sibling on behalf off someone else. Give your son’s life? I rate not. What will it take for you to do that, give your son?
The comment above that we might think that we can carry on committing sin. How can God ignore that? Would you ignore that? No, I don’t believe. Take some time and reflect on that. Does your love mean that you must keep on accepting wrongs? I personally don’t think so. God can’t be lax and is not lax with continuous sin or wrong. It will catch up with you eventually. I remember these words well; continuous bad choices will ultimately lead to self-destruction.
What works for me, to stay out off sin and wrong, is to stay in God’s word and presence. I slip back into bad habits if I don’t stay in God’s word.
“ I thank you, Lord, for Your sacrifice. The biggest of all. Holy Spirit be with me and guide me to Glorify God. In Jesus name. Amen”
