“For the word of the LORD holds true, and we can trust everything he does. He loves whatever is just and good; the unfailing love of the LORD fills the earth.”
Psalms 33:4-5 NLT
All God’s words are true and trustworthy—they can be trusted. The Bible is reliable because, unlike people, God does not lie, forget, change his words, or leave his promises unfulfilled. We can trust the Bible because it contains the words of a holy, trustworthy, and unchangeable God. (Tyndal Study Bible)
I once heard a Pastor was preaching about building the Church – the Body of Christ. He spoke at length about the foundation. Everything in life has to have a solid foundation. Think about it. An accountant needs a foundation. They study for many years at university to cement that foundation.
We are, as individuals as well as a collective, the Church. We form the body of Christ. It is, therefore, critical that we, as individuals, have a good foundation. We have to cement ourselves in the body of Christ – the Church. Furthermore, we have to empower ourselves with knowledge, just like the accountant. Where does that knowledge come from? Yes, the Word of God – the Bible.
God puts the Bible, His word equal with him.
“Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.””
John 8:31-32 NLT
John 8:32 – my favourite scripture. Read it in context. It means that we must know that God’s Word is the truth, know it, and that truth will set you free. Wow! What powerful words! I say this; right in that scripture is your and my foundation, it’s all in God’s Word, the ultimate truth.
All we need is God’s Word to lay that foundation.
“Lord, I pray that your word is revealed to all. Make it our foundation. In Jesus name. Amen.”
