Strength

“God’s way is perfect. All the LORD’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭18:30‬ ‭NLT‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
Some people think that belief in God is a crutch for weak people who cannot make it on their own. God is indeed a shield to protect us when we are too weak to face certain trials by ourselves, but he does not want us to remain weak. He strengthens, protects, and guides us in order to send us back into an evil world to fight for him. Then he continues to work with us because the strongest person on earth is infinitely weaker than God and needs his help. David was not a coward; he was a mighty warrior who, even with all his armies and weapons, knew that only God could ultimately protect and save him. (Tyndale Study Bible)
There are a couple of things that come to my mind. Firstly I certainly don’t think that God’s way is for the weak. What I do think is that it gives a boldness to reach out to people to care and pray for them. It takes courage to minister to strangers. It even takes more courage to minister to friends and family because they sometimes seem the most critical. Think of this a moment, would you go to a prison and minister to prisoners? No, it’s not that easy. The Bible equips us to deal with these challenges. One has to take time and study the Bible listen to teachings from our spiritual leaders. Remember that you are not going to know all that the Bible says over night, it’s gonna take time. One just has to be diligent.
Secondly, if you read the Bible, God gave many super human strength. That did not mean physical strength only. It included wisdom and tactical strength. Think of David Moses and Noah all had different strengths. They all achieved their desired goal. You see it’s not always about physical strength. Mental strength is absolutely vital. With that, you can achieve almost anything. It also brings an inner peace.
Think of modern society and its challenges. We need more mental strength to overcome the daily challenges. In this fast paced world today it’s not about the physical so much as it is the mental fitness. I have experienced recently all motivation and strengthening is in the Bible.
“Lord I thank you for life’s guide the Bible. I thank you for the strength it gives. Amen”
