God sees everything

“For the LORD sees clearly what a man does, examining every path he takes.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭5:21‬ ‭NLT‬‬
This passage of Scripture speaks directly to me. The rest of Proverbs 5 is a warning against promiscuous women and warning not to be lead astray. It warns of the consequence of your actions. The commentary below talks about marriage the promise or covenant between husband and wife. Which is second to the covenant between you and God.
In contrast to much of what we read, see, and hear today, this passage urges couples to look to each other for lifelong satisfaction and companionship. Many temptations entice husbands and wives to leave when marriage becomes dull in order to find excitement and pleasures elsewhere. But God designed marriage and sanctified it, and only within this covenant relationship can we find real love and fulfilment. Don’t let God’s best for you be wasted on the illusion of greener pastures somewhere else. Instead, rejoice with your spouse as you give yourselves to God and each other. (Tyndal Study Bible.)
Even if a man keeps an illicit relationship secret from his family and society, nothing is hidden from the Lord. Adultery is a sin against God (Gen 39:8-9). Wow these words cut to the bone.
Unfaithful and cheating, that’s what adultery is, no matter what you do in life you can’t behave in this manner. Genesis 39 is the story of Joseph being enticed by the King’s wife and eventually being locked up for doing nothing. Then how God looks after Joseph in jail. Take note of the scripture below.
‘The warden had no more worries, because Joseph took care of everything. The Lord was with him and caused everything he did to succeed.” Genesis 39:23
My question to myself is in what areas of my life am I still cheating and being unfaithful? At work, time with my family or time with my God? Can you ask yourself that question as well? The Bible reminds us that if we are faithful over little, we will be ruler over much.
God knows our heart we can’t cheat Him.
“Lord I know You know my heart. Give me the wisdom and awareness to make the right choices. In Jesus name. Amen.”
