“for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can’t see— such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him.”
Colossians 1:16 NLT
Because the false teachers believed that the physical world was evil, they thought that God himself could not have created it. If Christ were God, they reasoned, he would be in charge only of the spiritual world. But Paul explained that all the thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities of both the spiritual and physical worlds were created by and are under the authority of Christ himself. This includes not only the government but also the spiritual world that the heretics were so concerned about. Christ has no equal and no rival. He is the Lord of all. (Tyndal Study Bible)
My first thought is accountability. In some way, we are all accountable in some way or form. Even as a street person you are accountable to yourself to find food and shelter.
I was watching the movie “Everest” last evening. When you are in such extreme conditions, and you try to look out for somebody else it can cost you your life. It is a true story, and people lost their lives on the mountain worrying about others. There is a moral question right here at what stage do you leave others to save yourself. The question is why God would create that situation?
It gets to that question of right choices again.
The important thing to realize is that everything on this earth is by God’s hand. On the mountain, the most qualified person was faced with these moral questions. He was equipped to make that decision, yet he looked after a fellow climber and eventually cost him his life.
That is exactly why some people would think no, but God would not do that. He is not in charge of that. Man was created with choice. God is in charge of everything in this world, but not of the choices we make. He, God does guide us, it’s called the Holy Spirit. That little voice in the back of our head that says, this is wrong. We just can’t accept the way He, God does things from time to time. I wonder how many climbers in the future would benefit from the lesson of the mistake those climbers made in 1995. The tricks is to learn from our mistakes and other’s mistakes.
Everything on this earth is By God; we just don’t understand it sometimes. All will be revealed in His time. Lean not on your own understanding.
“Lord, I pray for understanding. My faith is in You. In Jesus name. Amen.”
