“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.”
Isaiah 26:3 NIV
We can never avoid strife in the world around us, but when we fix our thoughts on God, we can know perfect peace even in turmoil. As we focus our mind on God and his Word, we become steady and stable. Supported by God’s unchanging love and mighty power, we are not shaken by the surrounding chaos (see Philippians 4:7). Do you want peace? Keep your thoughts on God and your trust in him. ( Tyndal Study Bible)
The day before yesterday we were instructed to rely on God. Rely on Him in everything we do. Yesterday these words or should I say blessings, peace and prosperity.
The commentary stated that Holiness leads to peace. That’s that thing we strive for again. If we are at peace, we are happy, and that’s people’s desire to be happy.
Isaiah wrote these intelligent words 700 Bc. I am always amazed at the wisdom even then. Like the commentator, explains we need to keep our minds on God. Just as the greatest command in the Bible says, “love the Lord your God with all your heart.” You can only do that if you focus on God wholeheartedly. If we focus on Him, we won’t be influenced and sidetracked in any way.
My mind wonders to sport, if you ever want to achieve greatness in sport, you need to be single-minded focused, on your goal. Do you have Godly and spiritual goals? Are you single-mindedly focussed on God and His ways?
So here’s the things, love God with all your heart, be singlemindedly focused on God, rely only on His understanding and care and it will lead to holiness and peace. Peace will lead to prosperity. How can we not follow these instructions and wisdom?
“Lord please make me listen to Your Word. I pray for strength to apply it. In Jesus name. Amen.”
