The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. (John 1:5 NLT)
Do you ever feel that your life is too complex for God to understand? Remember, God created the entire universe, and nothing is too difficult for him. God created you; he is alive today, and his love is bigger than any problem you may face.
“The darkness can never extinguish it” means the darkness of evil never has and never will overcome God’s light. Jesus Christ is the Creator of life, and his life brings light to humankind. In his light, we see ourselves as we really are (sinners in need of a Savior). When we follow Jesus, the true Light, we can avoid walking blindly and falling into sin. He lights the path ahead of us so we can see how to live. He removes the darkness of sin from our lives. In what ways have you allowed the light of Christ to shine into your life? Let Christ guide your life, and you’ll never need to stumble in darkness. (Tyndal Study Bible)
Just like darkness can never overcome light. So evil can never overcome right. Good will always overcome evil. Why do I think? Apart from being a promise from God.
This is the way I see it. Who wakes up in the morning and aspires to be bad? Yeah, there are some, but they are in the minority. We all strive to be good or good at it. Think of your circle of friends, colleagues and distant friends; none aspire to be bad. They all want good for themselves and family.
The Bible teaches us that the more good you do, the more you receive. Do you want people to say as they stand at your funeral know that was a bad man? Nope, that’s not what you want.
You see salvation promises us a renewal of our being and mind. It kills the darkness of sin. It creates an eternal light that lives’s in us. Nobody can take that light from us, nor extinguish it. What a revelation. This light, energy or renewal, we should not just leave for our spiritual life but all facets of our life’s. My first thought goes to those broken homes and broken relationships. Take on this renewal and light. God can fix everything. You see this light and good will overcome all that bad.
With God all things are possible. You are the light, and it shines in the dark.
“Lord I thank you for Your light. May I be the light to touch people. Make me humble Lord. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.”
