Isaiah 41:10 – As much as it pains us to face, we were called to suffer. As long as we live in the world, there will be sickness and disease. The good news is that Isaiah 41:10 tells us that we don’t need to be afraid. “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” When we need healing, we may become fearful that God will forsake us. This is why we need healing Scriptures to come to our rescue and to strengthen us.
Isaiah 53:5 – Jesus took our sins and our pains to the cross. “He took up our pain and bore our suffering, yet we considered Him punished by God, stricken by Him and afflicted. But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on Him, and by His wounds, we are healed.” Remind yourself of this healing Scripture in Isaiah when you are grappling with uncertainty. You can record it on an index card to be reminded of this when fear starts knocking.
Psalm 103:1-5 – Another potent healing Scripture of the Bible can be found in Psalm 103. It’s a Scripture on restoration, praise, forgiveness as well as healing. “Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise His holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all His benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagles.” What a great reminder of who God is and how He can liberate us! “Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.” – Proverbs 4:23 ESV
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly. ” – John 10:10 ESV
An exceptional friend, friend’s cancer has returned. I cannot imagine the devastation that news must have on your emotion and spirit. Can you imagine the despair they must feel? The feeling of loss and helplessness. I encourage you to have faith it’s never too late.
I discovered a couple of things in Bible Study the last couple of years. Man is a Trinity – Trinity means, three in one or a union of three, just like God is. Each part of man is equally important and dependant on the other. − Man is a spirit − Man possesses a soul − Man dwells in a body. The spirit has no expression without the soul and the body, i.e. in the earth. The body is lifeless and dead without the spirit and the soul. The soul exists because of the union of the spirit and the body.
We will see in the Scriptures that God places equal value on each of these three parts of man without overemphasizing any one of them. Some people place no value on the physical part and overemphasize the spiritual or psychological. Many write off the soul as evil along with the physical. Many do not realize that God saw the physical so important that He, firstly, created it and secondly, He became a physical man and suffered physical pain to redeem man physically. Thirdly, the physical is so valuable to God that He planned the resurrection of the physical body to make it an immortal incorruptible physical body – and not a spiritual body as some suppose.
The whole physical world that we live in was created and put into place by God who is Spirit and who lives in the realm of the spirit world.
The Spirit Sustains the Physical – Everything in the physical world begins in the spirit – health, prosperity, life, etc., all begin in the spirit of man. On the other hand – sickness, poverty and death also begin in the spirit of man. But a wounded spirit who can bear? ( Christian life training )
The point I am trying make is, please understand the power of that Spirit that lives in you. When Jesus died on the cross, days later he was resurrected from the dead, through the power of the Holy Spirit. It is that Spirit that lives in you. Its the same Spirit that Jesus used to perform miracles. That power is yours. All you have to do is believe and have faith.
If you read above the Bible refers to a thief, in your case that thief is cancer. It’s robbing you of your spirit and fight. I encourage you to listen to God’s word. Rely on the power of that Spirit. Please please, remember even if you have not had an intimate relationship with God, it’s never too late. God loves you. Many people think they are not worthy of God’s grace; I can assure you there is nothing further from the truth.
Lord, I pray that the Spirit stays with you and everybody else. May the Lord heal you in Spirit Soul and Body. In Jesus name, I pray, Amen.”
