For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:28 NLT)
A “ransom” was the price paid to release a slave from bondage. Jesus often told his disciples that he must die, but here he told them why—to redeem all people from the bondage of sin and death. The disciples thought that as long as Jesus was alive, he could save them. But Jesus revealed that only his death would save them and the world. (Tyndal Study Bible)
We are caught up daily in the bondage of this world. Our daily chores, responsibilities takes our eyes off the reality. We are so busy chasing this thing, called success. What is it? More money, possession or fame? Things don’t go our way then we get done on ourselves. Even get caught up in depression.
Well if you think about it, the greatest man who walked this earth is Jesus. Yes, there no other name like Jesus. That very Man gave his life to release us from the bondage of the world. He paid the price; he gave his life. Just like you would pay the price to release a slave.
What amazes me is the number of people who don’t take to heart what that release means. It’s not only the promise of heaven and eternal life. It’s the total release from all the world’s bondage. All you have to do is rely on God and have faith.
So why not be like the most famous person in the world, Jesus, serve and care for others. That caring nature will get you much further in life than anything else. Even if you hate your work be obedient and to it with care. If not for your Boss do it for God. Accept serve and care.
“Lord Jesus I thank you for the price you paid for me. Forgive me if I have failed Your glory. Help me touch the world. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen”
