Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. (‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭2‬ NLT)
Paul warned Christians, “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world,” which is selfish and corrupting. Many Christians wisely decide that a large portion of the world’s behavior is off-limits for them. Our refusal to conform to this world, however, must go even deeper than just behavior and customs—it must be firmly planted in the values rooted in our mind: “Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.” It is possible to avoid most worldly customs and still be proud, covetous, selfish, stubborn, and arrogant. Only when the Holy Spirit renews, reeducates, and redirects our mind are we truly transformed (Tyndal Study Bible)
Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. (‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭5‬ NLT)
So a man thinks’s so is he.
I was talking to a client yesterday. We where talking about all the troubles in the world. She made a comment that stayed with me.
“People just don’t get it” Firstly I have to say she is Muslim. What she was referring to is that some people take things completely out of contexts. They don’t open their minds and take the good from a situation. They would read and listen, and because it’s written or spoken, by the wrong person, they would condemn the words. Even if it is the most profound wisdom. They would blankly disregard it.
Let’s take the “Bible” what amazing wisdom. Many people don’t even consider it because it is just that, the Bible.
Read the scripture above what good advice. What can I add, but ask, if you are a pleasing person in God’s eye would you be pleasing to the world? Yes, you would. And just like I said before you would be that shining light.
” Lord I pray for your way. Please let me disregard the way of the world. Let us be a shining light for you. In Jesus name. Amen.”
