I hate those with divided loyalties, but I love your instructions. You are my refuge and my shield; your word is my source of hope. (Psalms 119:113-114 NLT)
Those with divided loyalties cannot make up their minds between good and evil. But when it comes to obeying God, there is no middle ground; you must take a stand. Either you are obeying him and doing what he wants, or you are not. Choose to obey God, and say with the psalm writer, “I love your instructions.” (Tyndal Study Bible)
I was chatting to a guy at the gym. We were talking about triathlon. Now here is a sport if you want to achieve you must be a 100% committed. It takes a serious commitment daily.
I was listening to a radio article about success and motivation. The commentator was saying that if you want to achieve in anything in life you need commitment. Then a clear-cut goal followed by a concise plan on how you are going to achieve that goal. Much the same as a training program or business plan. Then the critical part is to work that plan; it is pointless having it if you don’t work it.
Over the years I have made myself guilty of this. My real success only came when I worked that plan. It makes me think of my salvation; it takes commitment. Once you are committed, then you must have a goal. A spiritual goal. The Bible helps you with that. Once you have that goal, the Bible is your business plan. Remember then you have to work that plan. If you don’t, it’s pointless.
Just like I said upfront a 100% commitment. Just like the scripture says no divided loyalties. The Bible, God’s word is your guide and daily business plan. That comfort in knowing that it is there, just for you and everyone that makes that commitment to be saved.
“ Lord I thank You for Your plan. Help me work it daily to glorify You. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.”
