“So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time he will lift you up in honor. Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you. Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭5:6-8‬ ‭NLT‬‬
We often worry about our position and status, hoping to get proper recognition for what we do. But Peter advises us to remember that God’s recognition counts more than human praise. God is able and willing to bless us according to his timing. Humbly obey God regardless of present circumstances, and in his good time—either in this life or in the next—he will honour you.

Carrying your worries, stresses, and daily struggles by yourself show that you have not trusted God fully with your life. It takes humility, however, to recognize that God cares, to admit your need, and to let others in God’s family help you. Sometimes we think that struggles caused by our own sin and foolishness are not God’s concern. But when we turn to God in repentance, he will bear the weight even of those struggles. Letting God have your anxieties calls for action, not passivity. Don’t submit to circumstances but to the Lord, who controls circumstances.

Lions attack sick, young, or straggling animals; they choose victims who are alone or not alert. Peter warns us to watch out for Satan when we are suffering or being persecuted. If you are feeling alone, weak, helpless, and cut off from other believers, or if you are so focused on your troubles that you forget to watch for danger, those are the times when you are especially vulnerable to Satan’s attacks. During times of suffering, seek other Christians for support. Keep your eyes on Christ, and resist the devil. Then, says James, “he will flee from you” (James 4:7).(Life Application Study Bible)
How amazing this leads on from yesterday. God sees your heart. Firstly let’s consider His power. It’s through the power of God that Jesus was raised from the dead. We refer to it as the power of the Holy Spirit. God the Father, the son Jesus and the Holy Spirit are one. The power of that Spirit is that raised Jesus from the dead is available to us through faith. With the power of that spirit, we can overcome anything that crosses our path.
And with faith and obedience, God will honour us. Please bear in mind nothing in this world is instant, it all takes hard work and commitment. There is a saying that goes “easy come easy goes. I still learn about that on a daily basis. Honour is not bestowed easily in society. It takes some form of achievement. Consider that when we ask God for things.
As that sceptic, I always wonder why He God would single me out because He cares about you. God looks after the birds and the bees why won’t He look after you? We should through faith trust and leave our cares with him.
The closer we move to God the more intense the Devils attacks will become. As scripture says, he walks around like a roaring lion. Commentary refers to him, the lion, attacks the weak, frail and sick. I have prayed for many sick people over time. Their disease and pain rob them of there peace and spirit. My prayer and words are always don’t let this thing; situation steal your spirit and peace. You see this does not only apply to when are ill; it’s all those little daily pressures as well. When you under pressure he is going attack your faith. How many times have you said in the past why me God? The next thing is you start doubting his favour and blessing.
I encourage you to stay singlemindedly focussed on God, and abundant blessing will follow.
“Lord, I thank you for Your Word, the Bible. Amen.
