“For the word of the LORD holds true, and we can trust everything he does. He loves whatever is just and good; the unfailing love of the LORD fills the earth.” (Psalms 33:4-5 NLT)
All of God’s words are true and trustworthy. The Bible is reliable because, unlike people, God does not lie, forget, change his words, or leave his promises unfulfilled. We can trust the Bible because it contains the words of a Holy, trustworthy, and unchangeable God.(Tyndale study Bible)
“The commandments of the LORD are right, bringing joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are clear, giving insight for living.” (Psalms 19:8 NLT)
When we think of instructions, decrees, and commandments, we often think of rules that keep us from having fun. But here we see the opposite: God’s laws revive us, make us wise, bring joy to the heart, give insight, warn us, and reward us. God’s laws are guidelines and lights for our path, rather than chains on our hands and feet. They point at danger to warn us, and then point at success to guide us.(Tyndale Study Bible)
Have you ever wondered about the origins of secular or world laws? They were based on the Ten Commandments. After high school, I spent a couple of years studying law. After meeting God, I realised that the basis and entirety of law itself came from the Bible. All the instructions we need are right at our fingertips in the Word of God.
The current circumstance which our country finds itself in is one of desperation for God and an outcry from politicians for faith to play a great role in society. This makes it even more ludicrous that our government has banned religion in our schools. The question I pose is simply “why”? My pastor, Aidan, said that we can’t blame the political leader. We as the Church should teach the leader so that he/she can introduce change.
The question that I ask is: “is it the Holy Spirit working in that person leading the outcry?” It makes a person wonder, especially considering that God works in such mysterious ways.
Most importantly, as a Christian and a member of society, we have the responsibility to spread the Good News -the news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Again I will say that ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE WITH GOD.
Aidan, I would just like to commend and thank you for revealing the Word of God so clearly every Sunday. You are a huge inspiration to me. All the Glory to God for giving me the opportunity to go to church and for understanding.
“I pray that the Glory of God will be revealed to you all. Amen.”
