“Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
In these verses, the fullness of love is described, in each case by what love does. Love is action, not an abstraction. Positively, love is patient with people and gracious to them with generosity. Negatively, love never envies, or brags, or is arrogant, since that is the opposite of selfless service to others. Never rude or overbearing, love never wants its own way, is not irritated or angered in a personal offence, and finds no pleasure in someone else’s sin, even the sin of an enemy. On the positive side again, love is devoted to truth in everything. With regard to “all things” within God’s righteous and gracious will, love protects, believes, hopes, and endures what others reject. (MacArthur Study Bible)
The power of the Holy Spirit is incredible. With the gift of salvation, you understand that, what more can you expect. I shared this with my family this evening. And it was very fitting this evening.
What I would like to share is trust the power of the spirit and messages that cross your path on a daily basis. Life is about choices. So should we listen to all the words that cross our path? We cant do that, we have a choice and should make the correct decisions. Here are a couple of guides that will direct you correctly, the Holy Spirit, the Bible and our surroundings. By surroundings I mean where you hang out and the company you keep. There is nothing wrong with pubs, but will you develop spiritually in that environment. The point from scripture do good, and you will produce good. In other words, so a man thinks so is he. You will be judged by the company you keep. Interesting hey?
Reread the scripture, if you apply these words and direction, think of the peace you will receive in turn. I can’t believe that you will receive a different result.
God loves you unconditionally no matter what your choice. It is most probably the most crucial fact of life. God’s love is unconditional.
“Lord may love overcome all. In Jesus name, Amen.”
