“Commit your actions to the LORD, and your plans will succeed.” (Proverbs 16:3 NLT)
There are different ways to fail to commit whatever we do to the Lord. Some people commit their work only superficially. They say the project is being done for the Lord, but in reality, they are doing it for themselves. Others give God temporary control of their interests, only to take control back the moment things stop going the way they expect. Still others commit a task entirely to the Lord, but put forth no effort themselves, and then they wonder why they do not succeed. We must maintain a delicate balance: trusting God as if everything depended on him while working as if everything depended on us. Think of a particular effort in which you are involved right now. Have you committed it to the Lord?(Tends Study Bible)
This week has been amazing thus far. Listening to Rodney Howard-Brown has been eye-opening. He is a walking inspiration.
Yes, you guessed it, when he was visiting us at Church. It’s late, and I was stuck, so I went back to old posts. This post presented itself soon as I opened the Library. This evening at Fellowship we were discussing this topic. Here is a word for somebody.
He mentioned something yesterday evening that struck me. He said that in America, 95% of Christians have never introduced or led any one to the Lord. They all just go to church and just take the blessing and don’t share it with anybody else.
I ask you: is that commitment to the Lord?
I would like to leave you with this thought: if they where on fire for God, would they change? I think so. You see as Christians we are mandated by God to spread the Good News.
A big lesson for me when I became a Christian was that everything you do should be to Glorify God. That’s why I find working hard so easy. You can’t submit a task to God and then not work hard at it. So just like you commit the task or event to God you have to commit to work on it.
Everything we do takes a 200% commitment to be successful. In relationships, work, faith and absolutely everything else that comes to mind.Never give up. The day you fail is the day you give up. Lay everything before God.
“Lord, I pray for commitment to You. In Jesus name. Amen”
