Can you

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding.”‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:5‬ ‭NLT‬

When we have an important decision to make, we sometimes feel that we can’t trust anyone—not even God. But God knows what is best for us. He is a better judge of what we want than even we are! We must trust him completely in every choice we make. We should not omit careful thinking or belittle our God-given ability to reason, but we should not trust our own ideas to the exclusion of all others. We must not be wise in our own eyes. We should always be willing to listen to and corrected by God’s Word and wise counsellors. Bring your decisions to God in prayer; use the Bible as your guide, and then follow God’s leading. He will direct your paths by both guidings and protecting you. (Tyndal Study Bible)

Sitting below the Milkwood tree. Cool, breeze blowing off the ocean. It is 35 Celsius out there. Back from the hustle and bustle off the beach. How blessed can you be? Spent the morning on the beach with family. I am having a tough time getting into the Word. I am so overwhelmed by the moment.

I am on leave, and it’s month end at work. You know what happens things go wrong. Or shall I rather say we faced with challenges? What’s the first thing we do? We lean on our own understanding. Yes, we have down this a hundred times, month end. As young a Christian, I learnt to rely on God rather than my understanding. Yes, I know that sounds out there, not quite real. The Scripture says trust in the Lord with all your heart not just a part of it.  Easier said than done I can assure you. I can assure you it works, just have faith.

Take note what the commentator says above. “Bring your decisions to God in prayer.” Yes, you are saying how do I take my daily challenge to God, when they pop up. The thing is during your daily prayers you should ask for guidance and wisdom to deal with challenges. Here comes that word again Faith. That’s what we should have and rely on, rather than our understanding. Would like to add that there is nothing wrong with short prayers right at the moment.

Faith is the cornerstone in all.

“Lord, I pray for your understanding, then faith to rely on you. In Jesus name. Amen.”
