“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”Philippians 4:13 NIV
Can we really do everything? The power we receive in union with Christ is sufficient to do his will and to face the challenges that arise from our commitment to doing it. He does not grant us a superhuman ability to accomplish anything we can imagine without regard to his interests. As we contend for the faith, we will face troubles, pressures, and trials. As they come, ask Christ to strengthen you. (Tyndale Study Bible)
I am going to ask you this question, have you witnessed a miracle? I am sure the answer is yes. There are many examples in the Bible. There are many examples today as well. Remember that guy from Cape town that fell overboard at night, and then spent three days at sea before they found him. If that is not a miracle then what is? How many people have been cured of disease and ailments?
I am always amazed that we expect the miracles to be significant and impressive. What we forget are our daily requirements. We focus on the big stuff, which at the end of the day doesn’t matter. What is important is what strength we need to overcome our daily challenges. Every day we are faced with obstacles and choices, the trick is, strength to meet and overcome those. That is what we want not superhuman power to do extraordinary things, and then can’t do the little things.
Paul and Timothy in their letter to the Philippians referred to that, daily strength and wisdom. Like I said before we have choices, and Christ will give us the strength to meet His will. The differentiating thing is His will. God will even give you superhuman strength to do His will.
So ask Him daily for strength to do His will and ask for Holy Spirit to guide you in your choices.
“Lord, I pray for strength and guidance. Amen”
